Cowbane is a tall, hairless, perennial which grows to about 1.2m in height. The plant has triangular leaves which are divided in to 2 or 3 fingers. Cowbane flowers July and August. It produces umbels of white to pink flowers in some 10 to 20 rays. It prefers damp habitats including fens and marshes
Salivation, diluted pupils, spasmodic convulsions, abdominal pain.
Not normally diarrhoea.
