Description:
Hemlock is a tall annual or biennial plant which grows to 2.5m in height. The stems are hollow, erect, and covered in brown-purple spots. The leaves are rather soft and finely cut. Hemlock has white flowers 2mm in size bunched in umbels of 10 to 12 rays. It flowers June to July. Hemlock can be found in damp habitats ranging from meadows, riverbanks, and roadside ditches.
 
Symptoms can include:
Paralysis of the respiratory system, convulsions, frothing at the mouth, uneasiness, dilated pupils, weak and rapid pulse, clamping of jaws

Notes:
Poisoning has been reported in horses. All parts of the plant are toxic.
