John O'Groats to Lands End Marathon Pony Ride

On 18th June 2006 Vyv Wood-Gee and her 13 year old daughter Elsa set off on their Fell ponies to ride from John O'Groats to Lands End in aid of Cancer Research UK. The ride from the tip to the toe of Britain on her Fell ponies has been Vyv's lifelong dream and will be the ultimate endurance test for the two ponies Lancer (aged 20) and Rowan (aged 16 and in foal). It will also be a real test of the relationship between a mother and her 13 year old daughter!

Further details of the ride, the ponies involved, and route can be found online at

Vyv and Elsa are aiming to raise £10,000 from this ride. It is easy to make donations online by visiting http://www.justgiving.com/ride-for-research

Vyv and Elsa have finished this incredible ride. They arrived at Lands End as planned on 19th August. The ride took them 54 days in the saddle and in total they covered 1335 miles! Well Done Vyv and Elsa. Check Out their web site and don't forget to make a donation
