Ally Edwards from Oxfordshire has e-mailed Native Ponies
Online to tell us that the ponies which took part in the Bright
Eyes trial (see the Low Flying Helicopters article in the News
Update Column for details) were three fell ponies - Waverhead
Ted, Townend Badger, & Waverhead Copper. Ted & Copper
are both owned by Ally. As a result of this trial the Ministry of Defence and the British Horse Society launched a high visibility clothing campaign at RAF Benson, Wallingford, Oxfordshire on June 5th. Ally and her friend Ginny Duncan were at the launch. Ally was riding Waverhead Ted and Ginny her Highland Pony Brungrange Toby. As part of the campaign BHS are giving away free of charge reflective tabards and exercise sheets. There are limited numbers available so riders from Dedicated User Areas and Helicopter Training Areas will be given priority. Further details can be obtained from http://www.bhs.org.uk/Content/Ods-More.asp?id=5755&pg=News&spg=News&area=9 |
